Recent Interview From Dee Brown [Just Playing Around, Bored Lol]

Q: Why did you start writing/rapping?

A: WELL, I started because back in 7th/8th grade I would see weak rappers rapping and I said that seems easy enough so I decided that I'll try it out. So I wrote a lil' track called "In This Club" supposed to feature Lil' Jon and Kanye West (lol) so you know at that time I thought it was the coldest ever. But as I look back I realize it was Soulja Boy! (LOL) So since then, I kept writing and getting better. Now, I can say I am on top and ready to prove that I am on top and rappers who people think are sweet, compared to me, they just candy canes.

Q: Who is your inspiration?

A: Well, it used to be T.I. until I started listening to Nas ever since Christmas of 2006 when my mom got me "Hip Hop Is Dead" by Nas and then that made me get "It Was Written" then I went and ordered "I Am..." then ordered "Stillmatic" then Nas to me became then best rapper alive. Nas my biggest inspiration but T.I. and Young Jeezy are big factors who inspire me to upgrade my style but keep it mines at the same time.

Q: If you were to get a chance to work wit Kanye West, Lil' Wayne, Drake, Or KiD CuDi who would you choose for your first track?

A: That's pretty hard but I would probably choose Drake because right now, he's the hottest thing out right now. I mean, everybody is talking about Drake this, Drake that, a track with him would give me a big name.

Q: Do you want to be in the industry?

A: Yes but really, NO. Reason is because I don't want anything dumb going on in my life, I mean there's money involved but I still don't wanna be apart of it. I'd rather just do basement shit and leave it as that (lol).

Q: What is your favorite album?

A: Hmmm I'll have to say R&B wise Usher's debut album. I pretty much like every single track on that! And Hip-Hop/Rap wise that's really hard because it's so much I like but I'll go with "It Was Written" by Nas. That album was so original to me. That's not his best but that's my favorite though. Nas did his thang on that 1.

Q: Now, let's talk about "Autumn Winter". How do you think this project will turn out?

A: Hopefully on a good note you know. I want all 18 tracks to work well and everything. I want this to be a success! I don't want it to be a flop. I want everybody to like at least 10 tracks of it all so I can next time step that up.

Q: Are you really retiring already?

A: I never really WAS, I was actually going on a hiatus until I would graduate from college. Since everything back to how things suppose to be, I might do something else before it's time to stop the presses and move to ATL and do something more!

Q: We hear you DJ parties. Do you really?

A: Kinda I do. I just do like family parties and all. I don't do like real big parties. I'd rather chill on stuff like that you know. I just have my music played instead of playing (lol).
